Listen. This place is like if Taco Bell actually made food with fresh ingredients. Bean burrito? Better than TBell. Crunchy taco? Better than TBell. I mean, the bar is low by that standard but this place blows it out of the water. It's effin' fantastic when you need a late night munchie but don't want to feel tragic about the fact that you went out for a late night munchie. Drive thru is quick but not as quick as fast food because they actually make the food fresh. What a concept. Plus the people here are always friendly and kind. All around a 10/10.

My husband and I have been going here every few months or so, sometimes more often for a few years. We've tried almost everything and it's so delicious, the prices are amazing and the workers always give us tons of sauces. Love this place so much!

Full disclosure I have been coming here since 1992. It is my choice of LL of is Beaverton High students during off campus lunch. And even today, if I'm going to go through a drive way it will be here. They have an awesome staff who have worked there for years so they are efficient, friendly and speedy. Look I know it's weird to give a fast food restaurant a five star review but as far as fast food goes there is high quality. Always fresh and their prices have remained reasonable. The beefy nachos, and chili verde are some of my faves but I've never not liked anything and I never feel gross afterwards like some of those other fast food taco joints.

Well I've been visiting this little restaurant on and off now for 18 years I would have posted a picture but I'm he food didn't make it that long on my tray lol and I've never posted a review it's a great spot for quick delicious Mexican food it's nothing fancy but as a great stand by they hit the spot every time their Mexicali fries are the absolute best in town their crispy tacos full of flavor and the staff has remained the same since I've been here very friendly and this place has consistently been awesome satisfied my hunger for years with a great salsa bar and free drink refills go ahead and stop by you'll save in the wallet and leave satisfied thank you for your time and have a great time out eating.

My wife and I have been going to ME for 45 years back when they were called Taco Man. I don't think much on the menu has changed except the addition of street tacos. We usually get burrito supremes and mexi fries. My kids always did the coloring contest to win food. Any time they come home they have to go to ME. I guess they are closed for remodeling. I remember when they remodeled from TM to ME. The reason I thought to write this is because we were going to go to ME but remembered they are closed. I hope they come back as good as always.

Mexicali Express is a Beaverton classic. From breakfast, dinner, to lunch the menu is robust and affordable. Excellent options in the salsa bar. Service is always great. I have been eating here over 25 years and anytime I am in the area I stop by. I moved from Beaverton Area to rural Oregon City in 2016 and sure miss them being close but when visiting Beaverton it's a welcome taste of home!

Time to give my review an update! I still, 13 years later, live right down the street and I do drop in here still. A recent discovery is that they have some pretty great guac! A favorite thing is that I can order street tacos AND the fast food style. Both are great options and they do have a lot of different options. The drive through is open nice and late. I usually catch them pretty close to closing an have to say that they are always so friendly with smiles even when they've have a pretty long day. It is such a nice option when you want to lazy roll through a drive through and settle in with some tacos after going to a show or event.

A solid place to get some good food quick and at a reasonable price. The place has been here for as long as I can remember. The interior may seem a bit dated but was clean. We ordered the Chile Verde, Mexicali fries (sidewinder fries), beefy Nacho Supreme, and some street tacos (carnitas, language, and steak). The Chile Verde was excellent. I liked how the meat and flavor of the sauce went together. The meat was tender and ready to eat. The meat on the street tacos was also pretty good. I liked that they have a sauce bar that is self-service. I was able to try a bit of everything. Overall, it's worth coming and getting some good food.

Most of the time, if I am sitting in a drive thru for more than 10 minutes I start getting frustrated and start tapping my steering wheel and my ears start to steam. This is because typically drive thru food is supposed to be fast and (not necessarily cheep anymore) . Some fast food restaurants do make items to order without freezing the food (I.e Wendy's) but their business model usually has the food come out quickly. Mexican restaurants are quite different however. I have previously gone to Victorico's on Cedar Hills Blvd and wasn't quite sure why I had to wait 15 minutes for my food. When I got home and opened the burritos I realized why. The same goes for Mexicali Express. While I did have to idle in my car for a few songs, the payoff was well worth it. All aspects of the food was amazing. The burrito was hot and fresh. It was very potato forward with just a little fried egg on the inside of the tortilla but the potato was good and tender. The bacon wasn't crispy but it was not soggy like most breakfast sandwiches out there. The red salsa was super flavorful with just enough heat to give me the kick I needed. My son devoured the pancakes. He said it had a slight peanut flavor to it, but he still enjoyed it. The syrup didn't taste store bought and it turns out I was dipping my burrito into butter which I thought was sour cream. It had to be made in house as well. Overall the entire meal was amazing and seeing as it is less than 2 miles away, I will probably will be making more trips

I usually don't eat pork but decided to try the Chile Verde. The meat was so tender, perfectly cooked. Amazing. The beans were decent but the rice was probably the worst rice I've ever had. Tortillas were just hot & wet. All I ate was the meat, but that made it worth it! Nachos were "whatever" according to my husband. He said the real cheese & sauce were good, but the chips were a little stale & the olives were weird. As a Mexican woman, I 100% agree about the olives. I don't eat lengua, but my husband said it was the best lengua taco he's ever had in his life & would go buy 10 of them right now if he could. Really good spot, pleasantly surprised, just be careful when you go as they don't seem to have issues with drug addicts hanging out inside. There was a very high woman twitching & moving around at the table right across from us.
